Stuart Taylor
I joined the Socio-Digital System group at Microsoft Research Cambridge as a Research Software Development Engineer (RSDE) in January 2006. I also spent 6 months working in the incubation group at the lab prior to this date.

I graduated in 1989 with a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and subsequently studied at Birkbeck College (University of London), completing a MSc in Computing Science in 1995.

Much of my childhood was spent taking things apart and then trying to figure out how they worked. This inquisitiveness now drives my research, which tends to be very experimental in nature.
Current Research Interests
  • Tangible User Interfaces
  • Paper Interfaces
  • Interactive Surfaces
  • Mobile Communication Devices
  • Novel Uses of Technology
Knowing how things work is invaluable when creating new things
