Travel and transport information

We will be providing a coach free-of-charge from Brighton on the afternoon of Wednesday 26th October.  Exact drop-off location to be determined, depending on the preferences of the majority.  The Computer Lab page at http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/UoCCL/contacts/index.html gives a good overview of the various other options for getting to (and away from) Cambridge.

The workshop will be held in the Microsoft Building.  To travel to Microsoft from a local hotel, taxis are the easiest option, there are plenty of buses, walking is possible (about 30 mins gentle stroll from the market square), and bicycles can be hired.  The Computer Lab travel page gives the detail on how to get to the site by bike, bus and on foot.  Note that the Microsoft Building (the Roger Needham Building) is separate, but next door to, the Computer Lab Building (the William Gates Building).  You can see a map of the site at http://www-building.arct.cam.ac.uk/westc/site/site.html (Intel Research occupies one floor of one wing in the Gates Building).

The dinner will be at Emmanuel College, very close to the city centre.

Travel companions

Travel companions are very welcome to take the coach from Brighton and to attend the college meal.  Please let us know well in advance to make sure of a place.
