Rich Williams is with the European Science Initiative at Microsoft Research, Cambridge, England where he is the head of the Computational Ecology and Environmental Sciences group.

Rich has a PhD. in physical oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, CA, USA, spent ten years as a freelance software developer and more recently has worked as a researcher in theoretical ecology and ecoinformatics. His CV can be found here.
