I am a Researcher at Microsoft Research Cambridge working in the Machine Learning and Perception Group headed by Christopher Bishop. Together with Thore Graepel, I am heading the Applied Games group since 2006. From 2000 - 2003 I was a Research Fellow of the Darwin College Cambridge. Before that, I worked at the Technical University Berlin where I obtained both my diploma degree and Ph.D. degree.

My research focuses around Bayesian inference, computer games, statistical learning theory, ranking learning and margin methods.I am one of the inventors of Drivatars in Forza Motorsport and the TrueSkill ranking and matchmaking system in Xbox 360 Live.
