I am a Software Architect in the Cambridge Incubation team, part of Microsoft Research Cambridge.

Cambridge Incubation takes select research results from the research lab and incubates them, with the goal of either directly releasing the technology, or producing a derivative suitable for incorporation into existing Microsoft  products.

I also participate in research projects to varying degrees. My most active area of interest is peer networking and distributed systems. If you're doing anything interesting in peer-to-peer content distribution or distributed virtual environments (e.g. multiplayer games) I'd love to hear about it.

You can email me at johnmil@microsoft.com.

Depending upon the project, my role ranged from test developer or manager to developer or development manager. In most cases each project involved a full feature team of 10 to 20 people.
