SmartPhlow accesses information from the Washington State Dept. of Transportation. The application downloads a relatively small file, usually on the order of 230 bytes, and expands it to populate a Seattle area traffic map on a Microsoft powered smartphone (such as the Motorola Mpx200) ASI SmartPhlow stems from ongoing ASI research on software for notifications, interaction, and visualization. The SmartPhlow application also is a testbed for our research on interaction and display on small devices. SmartPhlow employs ZoneZoom techniques that provide efficient navigation with touchtone keys on a small device. SmartPhlow is not currently available for download or installation. SmartPhlow is being developed primarily as a research test-bed for explorations of navigation metaphors on small devices. We hope to make this technology available in the future. |
