| Microsoft Surface features a 30-inch tabletop display whose unique abilities allow for several people to work independently or simultaneously. All without using a mouse or keyboard.
Microsoft Surface is the evolution of the PlayTable incubation project. At the earliest stages of the project I was involved in brainstorming with an outside partner but more importantly, with Andy Wilson, I created the first applications to run on the table. I created paint application, pinball game, and a shell to launch various demos. All of my applications included a test harness that allowed them to run (and be tested) even if a working PlayTable wasn't present (which was often the case).
Here are some screenshots of my apps: Here are some links to more information about the Microsoft Surface Project: "Much of Milan is software, of course. While it runs on a Vista PC, there is a whole other layer of software that handles the advanced touch input. Microsoft researcher Daniel Robbins built the first application to run on the surface computer, a pinball game back in January 2003." |
