WCOP'99

Fourth International Workshop on Component-Oriented Programming
(in conjunction with ECOOP'99)

Lisbon, Portugal
14 June 1999

WCOP'99 was the fourth event in a series of highly successful workshops, held in conjunction with every ECOOP since 1996.

A component is not an object, but provides the resources to instantiate objects. Often, a single component will provide interfaces to several closely related classes. Hence, Component-Oriented Programming is about architecture and packaging, besides interoperation between objects.

Position paper submission deadline: 5 April 1999 (call has closed)

Notification of acceptance: 3 May 1999. (Of 21 submissions 11 papers were accepted)

Submission of revised papers: 24 May 1999 (Papers are now available online)

The workshop went fine and saw about 40 participants. The Workshop Proceedings have been published as a Research Report by the University of Karlskrona/Ronneby, Ronneby, Sweden. There is also a section on WCOP '99 in the ECOOP '99 Workshop Reader published by Springer.
