I am a Researcher in the Communication and Collaboration Systems group at Microsoft Research. More specifically, I am a member of the Multimedia Collaboration team. My current research focuses on automated lecture rooms, audio/video processing for collaboration, computer vision, etc. Previously, I have also worked on image-based rendering (compression / sampling / rendering), 3D model retrieval, active learning, peer-to-peer networking, etc. In a broader sense, my interests include multi-dimensional signal processing, computer vision, computer graphics, information retrieval, machine learning, data compression and streaming, etc.
I received my B.S. and M.S. degrees from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 1998 and 2000, respectively, both in Electronic Engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, in 2004.
