William Ramsey is a RSDE in the Text Mining Search and Navigation Research Group. He has worked on a variety of projects related to semantics, structured search, speech, spelling correction, and natural user interfaces. Prior to joining Microsoft, he worked as a quantitative financial risk analyst, a "quant" on Wall Street, and as a post-doc researcher analyzing the aerodynamics of America's Cup yacht sails. While at MIT he majored at various times in Biology, Aerospace, Mechanical, and Ocean Engineering and earned an S.B. (1993), S.M (1995), and Ph.D. (1996).
