Reservation Deadline:

To take advantage of the reduced rates negotiated with the Fairmont Empress for the Workshop attendees, you must reserve your room by September 3, 2006.

Call the Fairmont Empress Reservations Department at 250-384-8111 or their Global Reservations Centre at 1-800-441-1414 or visit their website at http://www.fairmont.com/empress (the greenish area on the right hand side of the page ).

When reserving over the phone, you will need to indicate that you are with the MMSP’06 group. When reserving via the website , you will need to enter the following Group’s promotional code in the designated area: GREEE1 in order to gain access to the IEEE MMSP'06 room block.

Additional room occupants:

Each extra person sharing a room will be charged an additional $30.00 per night. There will be no charge for children up to and including the age of 18 years who share with their parents. Maximum occupancy per Fairmont Room is 4 people.

Taxes:

Currently room rates are subject to the following taxes:

1) Provincial Hotel Rooms Tax (PST) 10%

2) Federal Goods & Services Tax (GST) 7%

Early departures:

Fairmont Hotels and Resorts currently charges an Early Departure Fee of $50.00 for guests who depart prior to their confirmed departure date. Guests will be able to change their departure date without penalty up to and including the time of hotel registration.

Cancellations:

Reservations cancelled within one week (7 days) of the stated arrival date will be subject to a one-night room and tax penalty.

High-speech internet access:

You need to join Fairmont President's Club in order to enjoy the free high-speed internet access at the hotel. The membership is free. After you sign up, you will also enjoy free local and 1-800 calls, and complimentary daily newspaper. Note that in order to receive these benefits during MMSP'06, you must sign up prior to arriving at the Fairmont Empress. Please visit www.fairmont.com/fpc to enroll. The enrollment is really simple and takes only a few minutes.
