Simon Baker Senior Researcher Microsoft Research Redmond BackgroundSimon Baker is a Senior Researcher in the Interactive Visual Media Group at Microsoft Research Redmond. Before joining MSR, he was an Associate Research Professor in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. He obtained his Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science at Columbia University in 1998, an M.A. in Mathematics from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1995, an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh in 1992 and a B.A. in Mathematics from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1991. Research InterestsSimon’s research interests lie in the field of computer vision. Currently, he is particularly interested in the areas of video and face recognition. In the past at CMU he has worked on projects in face modeling and tracking, human body modeling and tracking, super-resolution, 3D reconstruction, vision for safe driving, and projector-camera systems. Below is a list of his publications since joining Microsoft Research. A more complete list is available here. A better sorted list with h-index is (sometimes) available here.
