...a workshop at CHI 2009.

If you're thinking of going to CHI 2009, and you're into the arts (maybe you do research in creativity support tools, or maybe you paint, write, sing, dance, or play the viola), and you're sort of a nerd about it (I know I am), consider attending our workshop on applications of machine learning and algorithmic approaches in creativity support:

http://computationalcreativity.org

I'm a researcher in the CUE (Computational User Experiences) group at Microsoft Research. My current research interests include:

  • Computer support for musical composition

  • Alternative input devices and interfaces for improved ergonomics

  • Physiological signal analysis

My long-term research interests include:

  • Computer support for creativity in the arts

  • Novel computer applications in music

  • Novel user interface hardware

  • Signal processing for medical and computer input applications

  • Brain-computer interfaces

We're always looking for interns, particularly in the creativity-support, computer music, and alternative-input spaces. If you're creative, you're a bit of a hacker-type, and you're interested spending a summer in Seattle, drop me a line.
