The Computer Gaming Resource Toolkit contains the Microsoft DirectX SDK and the Tablet PC SDK for gaming, as well as tools, papers, curriculum, talks from industry and academic community leaders, and PC
game examples.

 
Getting Started  
Setting up the Environment
 Install Microsoft Windows XP.
 Install the latest patches from Microsoft using Microsoft Windows Update.
 Install the Microsoft .NET Frameworks 1.1 and 2.0.
 Install Windows Media Player. 
 Recommended: Defragment your computer's hard drive.
Installing the Software: PC and Tablet PC
 Uninstall any prior versions of the Microsoft DirectX SDK.
 Install the latest patches from Microsoft using Windows Update.
 Install the latest Microsoft DirectX SDK. 
 Install the Visual Studio Express Editions provided with this kit. 
 Recommended: Defragment your computer's hard drive.

If you have the latest version of Microsoft Windows XP, you will be able to install the Microsoft Tablet PC SDK 1.7 and the Tablet PC Gaming SDK even if your Tablet PC is not running the Microsoft Tablet PC Operating System.

 Uninstall any prior versions of the Microsoft Tablet PC SDK.
 Install the Microsoft Tablet PC SDK 1.7.
 Optional: Install the Microsoft Tablet PC Gaming SDK Beta.
 Install the Visual Studio Express Editions provided with this kit.
 Recommended: Defragment your computer's hard drive.
