Created in June 2007, the lab became the 10th Microsoft Research Asia joint Laboratory with universities in China. The objectives of the lab are to do the fundamental research in the areas of intelligent computing, software systems, and network information processing. Some of the projects being explored include: Data Mining Principles and Methods based on Perceptual and Cognitive Understanding, Machine Learning Theory and Algorithm under the Framework of Lipschitz Space, and other initiatives.
