Asia Information Retrieval Symposium 2008 held in Harbin

The 4th Asia Information Retrieval Symposium was successfully held in Harbin from Jan. 15 to Jan. 18, 2008. It aims to bring together researchers and developers to exchange new ideas and latest achievements in the field of information retrieval (IR). The scope of the symposium covers applications, systems, technologies and theory aspects of information retrieval in text, audio, image, video and multi-media data.

The symposium was co-organized by Harbin Institute of Technology and Chinese Information Processing Society of China, and sponsored by Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA). Dr. Hang Li, Senior Researcher and Research Manager is Program Committee Co-Chair. Ken Church, Principal Researcher of Microsoft Research was invited to deliver a keynote speech on the conference.
