University Relations Group at MSR Asia

We are a bridge between our lab and the academic community throughout the Asia Pacific region.

The University Relations (UR) Group at MSR Asia is committed to building strong partnerships and collaborative relationships with the academic community and governments across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as exploring new areas of research that can accelerate computer science or transform other disciplines through integrated computing.

Programs and events we organize include: theme-based research projects, joint labs, international conferences, faculty summits, visiting researcher programs, internship, fellowship, and lectures and courses. Since 1998, UR has sponsored over 600 events in over 10 countries and regions that have attracted more than 300,000 participants. UR has partnered with nearly 100 universities and institutes to the benefit of over 6,000 students.

In recent years, UR has launched a series of new initiatives to develop strategic relations with governments and academia. An important component of these is an emphasis on regional programs that extend collaborations and support universities in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. With a greater focus on local research interests and education, MSR Asia looks forward to making the University Relations program as extensive and diverse as the academic community.

We have representatives based in China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Australia. If you would like to know more about our programs in a particular subsidiary, please click on the link above.
