Fil AllevaGroup Manager Speech Components Group, .NET Speech Research interests
BackgroundBefore he joined Microsoft Research, Fil worked as a Project Scientist at Carnegie Mellon University in the School of Computer Science Speech Group where he worked on the speech systems Sphinx II, Sphinx I, Angel, Feature and Harpy. Along the way in order to support these speech systems he created the Lyre speech visualization tool, built a black black board system called Agora and designed and implemented a real-time operating system for a heterogenous multi-processor called HSA.
