Dr. Zheng Chen joined Microsoft Research, China in March 1999 to
pursue his wide-ranging research interests in Machine Learning,
Information Retrieval, Speech Recognition, Natural Language
Processing, Multimedia information retrieval, personal information
management, and Artificial intelligence. He received his bachelor's,
master's and PH.D.'s engineering degrees in Computer Science
Tsinghua University in 1994 and 1999.

Pre-requisites expected from participants |
The
tutorial is of interest for both researchers and practitioners of
information retrieval, machine learning and data mining. Researchers
will get a practical overview of new research problems from the
point of view of real applications. Practitioners will get a better
understanding of the specific problems of knowledge discovery and
data mining when the data is text/web. A basic knowledge of machine
learning and data mining is recommended. |
