About AIRS2004
Following the success of
the international workshop on Information Retrieval with Asian
Languages (IRAL) series, held in Taejon (1996), Tsukuba (1997),
Singapore (1998), Taipei (1999), Hong Kong (2000) and Sapporo (2003),
and the increasing R&D activities in information retrieval worldwide,
the Asian information retrieval community establishes the first Asia
Information Retrieval Symposium (AIRS2004).
The
symposium aims to bring together international researchers and
developers to exchange new ideas and latest achievements in the field
of information retrieval (IR). The scope of the symposium covers
applications, systems, technologies and theory aspects of information
retrieval in text, audio, image, video and multi-media data.
AIRS2004 welcomes
submissions of original papers in the broad field of information
retrieval. Technical issues covered include, but are not limited to:

The proceedings will be
published by Springer-Verlag as a LNCS (Lecture Series in Computer
Science) after the symposium.
Submission
Instructions
for submissions of papers

Authors of papers are
invited to submit original contributions, not exceeding 5,000 words in
English by e-mail. Due to the different font requirement, authors are
strongly recommended to prepare their manuscripts using MS Word 2000
or in PDF format.
Submissions should be sent

Instructions for submissions of final camera-ready manuscripts

Authors are requested to
provide the final camera-ready manuscripts in electronic version. Submitted papers MUST BE in Portable Document Format
(PDF) format. NO OTHER FILE FORMATS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
The format of the final
camera-ready manuscript should comply with the guidelines stated by
ACM. Please follow the instructions provided at the following URL to

Note:
1. The paper page size should be A4.
2. Please don't leave space for copyright notice.
A
full paper is limited to 8 pages, and a poster paper is limited to 4
pages.
Please be
noticed that no copyright form or copyright notice are required in this
submission.
Manuscript should be submitted
as an email attachment to
p-wwsun@msrchina.research.microsoft.com by the due date. The papers
submitted later than it will not be included in the proceedings.
ALL
ACCEPTED PAPERS MUST BE PRESENTED BY AN AUTHOR.
As a policy, each accept paper
must be registered by at least one author (No author could register 2
papers). To have your paper presented at the conference and included in
the conference Proceedings, the present author must complete the
registration by August 31, 2004.
