Every year the External Research & Programs group
selects five Microsoft Research New Faculty Fellows
from a pool of approximately 100 individuals
nominated by universities across the United States
and Canada. The New Faculty Fellows are each awarded
a $200,000 (USD) gift to stimulate creative
research in their respective fields. Microsoft
Research New Faculty Fellows have full freedom to
use the funds to advance their research agendas.
