Fisher's Exact Test Calculator for 2x2 Contingency Tables

Fisher's exact test is a statistical significance test for categorical data, measuring the association between two variables in a 2x2 contingency table. This online tool computes Fishers statistics, calculating the hypergeometric probability of the table, and one-sided and two-sided p-values, and displaying a visualization of the distribution of p-values. Unlike most tools, we do not use any approximations, even for tables with very large counts. If you have multiple tables, compute the False Discovery Rate using this tool. Learn more...

Quick Help

  • Insert the table values into the table cells - a, b, c, and d. Only natural numbers (positive integers) are allowed as input.
  • Press Compute.
  • To copy the computed statistics, click on a result. The result will be copied to the clipboard. Then, you can paste it to any other application, such as Excel.
  • The Hypergeometric probability is the probability of observing your table, given the row and column sums. The Two sided p-value is typically the most useful result.
