We drove 800 miles (about 1300 km) each way in one day to Lake Tahoe. It took about 15 hours including several pauses during the trip.
We stayed in Tahoe Chaparral resort, conveniently located near the Diamond Peak ski resort. This is a 2-bedrooms unit, pretty comfortable.
We went to ski and sightseeing every other day. We skied in Diamond Peak, Northstar, and Heavenly. We visited Reno and Virginia City, drove around the lake, and took a cruise. The weather was excellent, there was no line in ski, and the view is magnificent.
