I am a researcher
Research. My research interests are in machine learning and
natural language understanding. I currently focus on using large-scale
structured/unstructured data to build models that can understand natural languages.
I got my Ph.D. in
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
under the supervision of Dan Roth. I also had the great pleasure to work
Lin when I was in
National Taiwan University.

[2014 Summer] I spent quite
a summer with two awesome interns on interesting knowledge base related
Yang worked on improving Entity linking systems, while Arvind
worked on knowledge base completion. It turns
out both projects involve simple but interesting machine learning techniques.

[2014 Summer] With my
colleagues, we are hosting an entity linking challenge,
ERD 2014, in SIGIR 2014. Different from many other
challenges, each participant needs to build a web service
to participate. Please see the

[2014 Summer] Our twitter
entity linking system, E2E, has won
Entity Extraction & Linking (NEEL) Challenge. The
results show that the F1 of E2E is better than the rest of
the systems by absolute 15% F1.
