Digital Green is an agricultural training and advising system that seeks to benefit rural farmers by disseminating targeted information through digital videos.

A geographically-dispersed, culturally-diverse rural population of farmers remains disconnected from expert information that could improve the sustainability of their livelihoods. Various extension systems have been tried before, however, we aim to build a system that can scale agricultural advising support to even the smallest subsistence farmer. Digital Green bootstraps on the local expert knowledge of existing NGOs and farmers by capturing and distributing the widest selection of content in the most targeted, practically-oriented format – videos.

You can browse an out-dated list of videos of available videos. (pdf or html)

For those that might not understand the multitude of Indian languages, you can sample the practices and technologies promoted from the following review sheets that have been translated into English: azolla, jeevamrutha, jowar, kitchen garden, paddy seed treatment, ragi seed treatment, and vermicompost. Village animators refer to these sheets when interacting with farmers that want to know the ingredients and step-by-step instructions needed to adopt a particular practice or technology after attending a video screening.
