from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=32832 if you use Windows 2000, and install it to your PC. Windows XP already contains Windows Installer 2.0. The installation of PC, Pocket PC and Handheld PC versions of Microsoft Portrait needs the support of Windows Installer.

As the download database may change, if you do not find Windows Installer from the above link or you want to look for the latest version of Windows Installer, you can also go to Microsoft Download Center

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp?

Search using: Keyword Search, input Windows Installer as Keywords and select the operating system of your PC, then click Find It!

If you use Windows 98, Windows ME, or Windows 2000, please download the latest DirectX Runtime from

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=2

and install it to your PC. Windows XP already contains DirectX 8.0. Microsoft Portrait needs the support of DirectX 8.0.

If you would like to start Microsoft Portrait from MSN Messenger, please install MSN Messenger 4.7 or above from

http://messenger.msn.com/

This setup was created for Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. It will copy some files to a directory you specify and place a shortcut to the Microsoft Portrait application in the Start Programs menu on your task bar.

After Microsoft Portrait installation is finished, the installation of RTC Client API v1.2 will be launched. This is for the support of Microsoft Live Communication server 2003 and other SIP servers in Microsoft Portrait.
