Microsoft Research Faculty Summit 2011
Faculty Summit 2011 featured Project Hawaii. Arjmand Samuel chaired a workshop titled, "Mobile Computing: Challenges and Opportunities," which featured talks by Victor Bahl (Microsoft Research) and Deborah Estrin (UCLA). Two teams of students from UIUC and Stanford demonstrated their projects based on Project Hawaii during the demo session.
Project Hawaii Faculty Dinner at MobiSys 2011
Project Hawaii faculty dinner event was held in Washington DC on June 29, 2011, collocated with MobiSys 2011 conference. The Project Hawaii team presented an introduction to the project with a report of the spring 2011 semester projects. The event was an opportunity for interested faculty members to sign up for using the Hawaii platform in the coming academic year.
Project Hawaii Workshop at SIG-CSE 2011
In this session, Project Hawaii team provided an overview of the project, with an emphasis on its use as a project companion for teaching mobile and cloud computing courses. Instructors who have been associated with Project Hawaii were invited to talk about their experiences using Hawaii as a course companion for teaching cloud-enabled mobile computing courses to graduate and undergraduate computer science and engineering students. Demonstrations of projects by students using Hawaii were also featured in the demo session.

Hawaii Tutorial at Software Summit 2011
Project Hawaii team presented a hands-on tutorial on creating cloud-enabled mobile applications using the Hawaii Framework. The Hawaii platform was also featured at the demo session.
