Innovations in WLAN and WWAN technology bring us to today’s “mostly connected” world, and Smartphones are rapidly gaining acceptance in both the enterprise and consumer spaces. We foresee the vast majority of applications that run on these platforms will rely on the cloud. The Hawaii project is a new effort investigating the ability of the cloud to enhance the end-user experience on mobile devices. We intend to build a set of cloud-enabled mobile applications to better understand the systems
