Dr. Tao Qin joined Microsoft Research Asia as an associate researcher in July 2008. His research interests include information retrieval, machine learning (learning to rank), data mining, optimization, graph representation and learning. Prior to joining Microsoft, he got his PhD degree (2008) and Bachelor degree (2003) from Tsinghua University. From September 2003 to June 2004, he was with Microsoft Research Asia as a visiting student with the Media Computing Group. From July 2004 to June 2008, he had been a visiting student with Web Search and Mining Group.
