Scarlet Schwiderski-Grosche is a Senior Research Program Manager in Microsoft Research Connections EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). She is based in Cambridge, UK, where she is responsible for academic research partnerships relating to Sensors and Devices (esp. regarding the .NET Gadgeteer project), Natural User Interactions (NUI) and medical imaging. Moreover, Scarlet manages the Microsoft Research PhD Scholarship Programme.
Scarlet has a PhD in Computer Science from University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory and worked in academia for almost 10 years before joining Microsoft in March 2009. She was a Lecturer in Information Security at Royal Holloway, University of London, from 2003 to 2009. She has a number of publications relating to distributed and mobile/wireless systems, databases, and security.
