As Director of Business Development for the External Research organization in Microsoft Research, Michael Aday manages the team that supports Tony Hey in setting the business priorities, strategy; and prioritizing, establishing and maintaining proper external relationships for the group.
Michael is also part of the leadership team and is responsible for establishing, developing, and communicating the business priorities and activities for the division, more broadly across Microsoft, and externally. He prepares and drives all business planning for External Research. Manages negotiation of sponsored research agreements through a partnership with LCA. And he develops and drives group reviews, keeping the team accountable throughout the rhythm of the business calendar — including key business reviews with executive and senior management, people reviews, and financial review processes within the team.
Michael began working for Microsoft in January 1996, initially as a systems engineer and messaging specialist in the company’s South Central US sales district.
