Kun Tan received the B.E., M.E. and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1997, 1999, and 2002 respectively. He is now a Senior Researcher in Wireless and Networking Group. His research interests include transport protocols, congestion control, delay-tolerant networking, and wireless networks and systems. He developed the Compound TCP, which has been implemented and deployed in latest Windows OS. He has also led the development of the Sora software radio system. Dr. Tan has published over 30 technical papers in top conferences and journals. He also filed over 40 patent applications and 14 of which have been granted. He won the best paper and best demo award in NSDI 2009, best demo award Sigcomm 2010, honorable mentioned demo award in Mobicom 2009. He has served in Technical Program Committee in many top conferences, including ACM Sigcomm, Mobicom, and NSDI. He is an associate editor of IEEE Transaction of Mobile Computing.
