孙建涛是微软亚洲研究院机器学习组主任研究员。他从事智能信息系统的研究工作。他在国际学术会议和期刊上发表论文20多篇，同时和微软产品开发部门合作进行技术转移。到目前为止已经申请和提交了10多个专利。在加入微软之前，他从清华大学|计算机系获取博士学位，从事文本分类方面的研究。从东南大学|仪器科学与工程系取得本科和硕士学位。他是ACM和IEEE的会员。
