John Helmes is an interaction designer in the Socio-Digital Systems group at the Microsoft Research lab in Cambridge, UK. He has a background in industrial design as he graduated from Eindhoven, University of Technology in the summer of 2008. His main interest is within interaction design and exploring different ways in which the combination of both physical and digital interactions within one product or service can strengthen each other. Within his work as an interaction designer he strives for a combination and balance between the user, technology and design, merging these elemental principles in his design solutions.
