RESEARCHER
.

My research examines collaboration and information visualization, from a human-computer interaction perspective. I largely build technologies that allow users to understand and share the data that makes up the world around them:

  • Reflecting on social computing activity
  • Visualizing traffic and messages in email and blogs
  • Understanding computer networks and operations
  • Interacting with tabletop computing

I recieved my MS from the University of California, Berkeley in 2000 and my PhD from the University of California, Irvine in 2004. I have been a researcher at Microsoft Research since 2004. I work with the Computer-Supported Collaboration and Visualization (MSR-CSCV) group, part of the Visualization and Interaction for Business and Entertainment (MSR-VIBE) team.
