Bo Wang is an Assistant Researcher at Microsoft Research Asia, Web Intelligence(WIT) group. He joined MSR Asia in July of 2008.      

Eduation: 

  • Bo received M.S. degree in computer software and theory at Peking University in 2008.07, his research directions are natural language processing and machine learning.
  • He got B.E. degree in information and computing science at Beijing Jiaotong University in 2005.07.

  • WIT.TY (Web Intelligence To You, 2009.06 to present, MSRA), aims to provide a smart UI, seamless integration of search, browsing, advertisement and social experience.  (demo)
  • AdTrail(2008.12 to present, MSRA), provides an intelligent UI to visulize users' search, browse, and advertisement behavior and predict users' intent based on history information.(demo)
  • AdTextQualityRater(2008.12 to 2009.06, MSRA), automatically detects those ad texts with intrinsic errors such as grammar error, punctuation error, misspelling issue, semantic awarkardness. (demo)
  • SQUAD(Social Question Understanding and Distillation, 2008.07~12, MSRA), question detection and answer finding module.
  • Query Clustering(2008.03~2008.05, MSRA), partitions queries into groups to improve query-specific ranking.
  • Virtual 3D Browser(2007.07~2007.09, IBM), develops a 3D internet browser used at Virtual Support Center.
  • Prototype Search of Baidu Space(2006.04~2006.06, Baidu), developes the back-end search prototype of Baidu Space, which was the core parts of current Baidu Space Search. (product link)

  • AC (Automatic Classification, 2005.06~2005.10, Baidu) of Baidu Zhidao, classifies short questions into top3 relevant categories.(product link)

  • Research projects at ICL, PKU: Chinese multiword name entity recognition, subjective orientation identification, data mining of custmer reviews, word clustering, document clustering, Chinese abbreviation identification and recovery and so on.
