Advanced Technology Labs Cairo (ATLC) is an applied research lab with focus on explorations and incubations in the areas of languages, and content services, with a high impact potential on Microsoft’s products and services. ATL Cairo leverages its location in Egypt to establish joint applied research programs with leading research institutes in Egypt and the Middle East and to focus its R&D on opportunities to improve the Internet usage experience in the region.

“The key to ATL Cairo’s success is our focus on incubations. Our incubations aim to reduce the risks associated with technologies emerging from research to levels that are acceptable to the product groups and to start envisioning real life scenarios around these technologies. We make this possible by maintaining long-term working relationships with the product groups and ongoing collaborations with other Microsoft Research Labs. Finally, we complement our internal focus with external collaborations and internship programs in order to maximize the value ATL Cairo bring to Microsoft and to promote advanced research in the Middle East.”
