From the director
“ATL Cairo is not just a bunch of researchers and engineers. We aspire to deliver impact that is much bigger than our size by combining engineering excellence with outstanding research. Our expertise in text, image, and speech processing puts us at the forefront for developing differentiated multi-modal user experiences.
Being located in Cairo, Egypt, we understand the complexities with under-served markets and languages in term limited and unlabeled data sets. We scale the experiences we gains from addressing local problems to serve a wider set of global opportunities for Microsoft. Additionally, with most of our region’s population being mobile-only users of technology, we already have a glimpse of the mobile-first and cloud-first future of computing.
Finally, we enjoy representing Microsoft’s T&R organization in the region and our interactions with the various academic and research institutions and both the undergraduate and graduate levels.”
— Hussein Salama, Director, Advanced Technology Labs Cairo
