About 2007 TechFair

On May 2, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C., Microsoft Research hosted its 2007 D.C. TechFair.

Computer scientists from Microsoft Research demonstrated groundbreaking innovations under development in the organization’s labs and gave guests an opportunity to interact with Microsoft Research executives and computer scientists to learn how they are helping to turn ideas into reality for Microsoft and for technology users around the world.

The event featured 10 cutting-edge demos viewed by members of the U.S. Congress and their staff, administration and agency officials, university representatives, Government Leaders’ Forum participants, members of the diplomatic and academic communities, analysts, and media representatives.

The demos on display represented projects and academic collaborations in areas such as security, speech recognition, robotics, search, and digital imaging.

For the past 15 years, Microsoft Research has been tackling some of the toughest computing challenges. The D.C. TechFair enables governmental and academic influentials to get a glimpse into how Microsoft Research will continue to push the envelope of innovation for the next 15 years and beyond.
