A partnership between Microsoft Research and the National Institutes of Health
Mobile technologies are transforming global healthcare on many fronts. To foster research and innovation in the field, Microsoft Research with the National Institutes of Health founded the mHealth Summit in 2009. This year, Microsoft Research year was a partnering sponsor for the event.
On November 9 at 1:00 P.M. EST, Kristin Tolle, director, External Research, a division of Microsoft Research, interviewed Bill Gates during a keynote. Additionally, Peter Neupert, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Health Solutions Group, also participated in the event—he was on a panel looking at issues related to privacy and data security in the era of mobile technologies on November 10 at 10:00 A.M.
This event provides a forum for researchers, funders, and policymakers to exchange ideas and findings that will encourage development of practical, affordable, and effective solutions to health challenges in underserved and resource-poor populations.
