The IEEE Software Award for the Best Software Engineering in Practice Paper went to “A Characteristic Study on Failures of Production Distributed Data-Parallel Programs," co-authored by Sihan Li and Tao Xie (North Carolina State University, United States), Hucheng Zhou and Haoxiang Lin (Microsoft Research Asia), Tian Xiao (Tsinghua University, China), Haibo Lin (Microsoft Bing, China), and Wei Lin (Microsoft Bing, United States). Congratulations to the authors!

The paper was presented on Thursday May 23, in Track: Software Engineering in Practice, 13:30–15:30.

About ICSE 2013

ICSE 2013, the thirty-fifth International Conference on Software Engineering, encourages participants from academia, industry, and government to share leading-edge software engineering ideas with inspirational leaders in the field. Experts from Microsoft Research will present papers on topics ranging from the design of bug fixes, to learning software engineering via interactive gaming, to production distributed data-parallel programs.
