Connecting China Human Computer Interaction with the World

About the Symposium
The field of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) has been playing a more and more important role in computing and in our society. The goal of the China Distinguished Human Computer Interaction Speaker Series and the 2010 China Human Computer Interaction Symposium is to bring together the HCI research community in China, expose community members, especially students, to some of the leading research going on both inside and outside of China, and to catalyze new research connections and exchanges between the community members. This will be accomplished by a 2-day symposium in March 2010 as well as a set of 7-10 guest lectures over the 2009-2010 academic years that will rotate among the key HCI research institutions in Beijing: Peking University, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Software, Institute of Psychology, Microsoft Research, and Tsinghua University.
The distinguished speakers will be invited from both industry and academia, across Asia, North America, and Europe. We will focus our invitations on speakers who have already made a strong impact in the HCI research community.
Due to limited seating, it is advised to register for the March symposium in advance by contacting ACM SIGCHI CHINA CHAPTER at acm.sigchi.china.chapter@iel.iscas.ac.cn. Please send your name, company/school/organization, email address, and student status. The registration fee for the symposium will be 200 RMB (paid at the door), 100 RMB registration for CCF members, and free registration for ACM SIGCHI/SIGCHI China Members and full-time students.
