PhD Summer School 2013The PhD Summer School is an annual event that is organized at Microsoft Research Cambridge in relation to the Microsoft Research PhD Scholarship Programme.
The eighth Microsoft Research Summer School took place at Microsoft Research in Cambridge, UK, from 1 July to 5 July 2013. It included a series of talks of academic interest, transferable skills talks, and poster sessions that provided invited students the opportunity to present their work to Microsoft researchers.
Invited students included PhD students in their first or second year from universities and research institutions with which Microsoft Research partners, as well as all Microsoft Research PhD Scholars.
Lectures and posters sessions were be public and open to all research staff and students from the University of Cambridge.

About the Microsoft Research PhD Scholarship Programme
The Microsoft Research PhD Scholarship Programme was developed in 2004 to support research collaborations between academics in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region with Microsoft Research researchers in the Cambridge Lab. Currently, there are approximately 100 students working at universities and research organizations across the whole region on peer-reviewed projects and in collaboration with their Microsoft Research Cambridge co-supervisors.
