Microsoft Research is eager to recognize and support outstanding fellows, scholars, and researchers to advance the state of computer science and to strengthen collaborative relationships with academic institutions. We sponsor several programs in North America.
Fellowship and Scholarship Programs
The Microsoft Research Fellowship programs in North America enable young researchers and new faculty to collaborate with colleagues around the world, focusing on work that can impact current and future directions for research.
Application processes for specific programs:
- Microsoft Research Graduate Women's Scholarships
A one-year scholarship program for outstanding female graduate students. This program supports women in the second year of their graduate studies. - Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship
A two-year fellowship program for outstanding PhD students nominated by their universities. This program supports men and women in their third and fourth year of PhD graduate studies. - Microsoft Research Faculty Fellowship Program
A grant program for outstanding new faculty nominated by their universities.
