What's New
Take a mini-tour of what's new on the Microsoft Research Web Site.
As part of our ongoing effort to update the site and make it easier to use, we’ve made quite a few changes. In December 2008, the new Microsoft Research Web site design made its debut. Read on to find out what’s new.
- Interactive and highly designed home page
See what's new and what's hot at Microsoft Research at a glance. Our new home page has been redesigned to make it easier to use—and easier on the eyes!
New home page - New site organization and navigation
As part of the site redesign, the navigation has been updated to better organize the content on the site. This means that labels are easier to understand and content easier to find. The navigation is designed to help you find the content you want easily.
New navigation - Breadcrumbs to help you find your way
If you aren’t sure where you are, you can use the breadcrumbs to help find your way. These links show you the direct route back to the home page, with the major stops along the way.
New breadcrumbs - New ways of browsing cool stuff
You can now find Microsoft Research people, publications, projects, and downloads easier than ever by using our new directory pages. In addition to these four, we also have a directory page for groups, news, and events.
New directory page icons
On directory pages, you can sort and filter content by title, name, date, lab, or research area. You can also search publications only. In addition, you can cross-reference related content. For example, when you view the list of projects, you can click the people icon to see those people who worked on that particular project.
New directory pages
Stay tuned as we add new features and keep refining these pages to make them even more useful. - New search
Search is now predominately placed and searches the content of our Web site by using Live Search.
New search
We will be adding new content, including interactive content and videos, and making more improvements in the coming months. In the mean time invite you to try out our new site and tell us what you think.
