08:30–09:10	Keynote: Where Are We, and Where Might We Go? Speaker: Stewart Tansley, Microsoft Research Connections The keynote provides insight into some of the inspiring, state-of-the-art research in natural user interfaces (NUIs), explores trends, and outlines some future challenges. The talk provides a broad perspective of NUI research at Microsoft research, and highlights collaborations with the wider community of academic researchers.
09:10–10:10	Kinect for Windows Tutorial: Part 1 Speaker: Neil Roodyn, nsquared and Microsoft This two-part tutorial provides a “crash course” introduction to programming with Kinect for Windows. We introduce, explore, and demonstrate the key features. Most of the talk is spent in the integrated development environment (IDE), reviewing and running live code.

11:40–12:10	Kinect Research Project Collaboration with Microsoft Research Speaker: Jian Zhang, University of Technology, Sydney This closing talk highlights one Australian example of an active collaboration between the University of Technology, Sydney, and Microsoft Research. The project, which is in the field of NUI, uses Microsoft Kinect technology.
