Introducing ConferenceXP Reflector Service
With ConferenceXP 3.5, you can use Reflector Service 1.3 to enable a ConferenceXP client in a unicast-only network to receive multicast transmissions. For example, if multicast is not supported by a router in your network, preventing your ConferenceXP client from connecting to other clients in a multicast-enabled network, you can use the Reflector Service. The Reflector Service enables you to specify a computer in the multicast-enabled network as the Reflector Server, which receives the multicast network traffic and forwards it to your ConferenceXP client over unicast.

The Reflector Server forwards multicast network traffic over unicast.

When you install Reflector Service, the setup program sets this services Status as Started and its Startup Type as Automatic. In the Reflector Service Manager dialog box, you can start and stop Reflector Service, and you can specify whether you want this service to start each time you start your system.
Because ConferenceXP and Reflector use the same IP Address and Port for
unicast, we recommend you run Reflector on a separate computer. If you install
ConferenceXP Client and Reflector on the same computer, you will be unable to
perform any client operations that involve unicast, such as playing back an
archive outside of a venue, opening a two-way connection, or using Reflector to
enable a ConferenceXP client in a unicast-only network.
