Note Because the .NET Framework setup program detects the presence of IIS and installs additional IIS components, which are not installed otherwise, it is recommended that you install Internet Information Services (IIS) before .NET Framework 1.1 or Visual Studio .NET, which includes .Net Framework 1.1. If that isnt possible, and .NET Framework 1.1 or Visual Studio .NET was installed before IIS, you
can register ASP.NET with IIS.

- On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
- Click Add or Remove Programs.
- If Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 or Microsoft Visual Studio .NET appears in the Currently install programs list, click Change/Remove to uninstall it.
- Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
- In the Components list, select the Internet Information Services (IIS) check box, and then click Next.
- Click Finish.
Install .NET Framework 1.1
- Go to the Windows Update Web site.
- Click Custom Install.
- In the left navigation bar, click Select optional software updates.
- Select the check box to the left of Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1.
- Click Go to install updates.
- Click Install.
Register ASP.NET with IIS
Note Follow this procedure only if .NET Framework 1.1 or Visual Studio .NET was installed before IIS.
- In Windows, on the Start menu, point to Programs, point to
Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
- At the command prompt, type:
%WINDIR%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe -i
Where v1.1.4322 is the version number of the .NET Framework that you installed on your
