                 May 3rd, 2007: Due to the excellent turn out in conference registration, the organizing team decided to include one banquet ticket in every regular non-student registration. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank your participation in ICME2007! Extra banquet tickets are still available at $25 (or RMB 193) through online registration site. If you have purchased banquet ticket(s) with your regular non-student registration, you will be properly refunded. If you paid through a credit card, the refund will appear in the same credit card; if you paid through bank transfer or check, you will be refunded at the conference.

                May 3rd, 2007: The online registration site  (https://www.cmsworkshops.com/ICME2007/Registration.asp ) will remain open until June 30th. On site registration will be available at conference from July 1st.

                May 3rd, 2007: ICME'07 Workshop in Multimedia Communications and Computing will take place from July 9-10 at USTC Campus in Hefei, China.

                Apr. 30, 2007: Registration fees can now be paid in Chinese Currency (RMB), please refer to the Registration page for details.

                Apr. 30, 2007: We have adjusted our registration service at CMS to waive all wire transfer fees for registration payments through wire transfers. These fees will be charged directly to the conference instead. For those who have already made the wire transfers, you will be contacted shortly for proper refund.                 Apr. 26, 2007: We have received many requests for extension of author early registration because of lengthy procedures for budget approval and currency conversion. Hereby we extend the early registration deadline for authors presenting papers to May 3rd. The early registration deadline for general public remains June 1st.

               Apr. 4, 2007: The paper acceptance decision will be announced soon.

               Mar. 19, 2007: Notification of acceptance  is postponed to April 4th due to the extension of the paper submission deadline.

               Jan. 30, 2007:  The public paper submission for ICME 2007 special sessions has been closed as of midnight, Jan. 29, 2007. Only invited special session papers will be allowed to upload. All other submissions will be rejected without review. Please contact the respective special session organizers if you have any questions with regard to a special session.

               Jan. 16, 2006:  Special session paper submission instructions are posted on the "Special Sessions" page (click on "Special Sessions").

               Jan. 9, 2007: If  you are interested in entering the contest for best student paper award, please click on the menu "Student paper contest" for contact information.

               Jan. 5, 2007: For authors in China who are still having difficulties submitting their papers, please follow these steps for paper submission: (1) Go to http://eecs.pku.edu.cn/ICME2007/ , (2) Click on "For Authors", and (3) Click on "Emergency!!! Authors click here, please".

                        Dec. 31, 2006: The paper submission deadline has been extended to Jan. 20, 2007.

                Nov. 27, 2006: The deadlines for special session and tutorial proposals have been extended to Dec. 8, 2006.

 

ICME07 Call for Papers

 

IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo is a major annual international conference with the objective of bringing together researchers, developers, and practitioners from academia and industry working in all areas of multimedia. ICME serves as a forum for the dissemination of state-of-the-art research, development, and implementations of multimedia systems, technologies and applications. ICME is co-sponsored by four IEEE societies including the Circuits and Systems Society, the Communications Society, the Computer Society, and the Signal Processing Society. The conference will feature world-class plenary speakers, exhibits, special sessions, tutorials, and paper presentations.

 

Prospective authors are invited to submit a four-page paper in double-column format including authors' names, affiliations, and a short abstract. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. Topics include but are not limited to:

• Audio, image, video processing
• Virtual reality and 3-D imaging
• Signal processing for media integration
• Multimedia Communications and networking
• Multimedia security and content protection
• Multimedia human-machine interface and interaction
• Multimedia databases
• Multimedia computing systems and appliances
• Hardware and software for multimedia systems
• Multimedia standards and related issues
• Multimedia applications

• Multimedia and social media on the Internet

A number of awards will be presented to the Best Papers and Best Student Papers at the conference. Participation for special sessions and tutorial proposals are encouraged.
