In September 2001, Microsoft Research sponsored a workshop for Faculty and PhD students on the technologies embraced by the Microsoft .NET platform. This four-day workshop was intended to provide attendees with a firm understanding of the .NET architecture, its components, and its implementation from Microsoft.
