Audio Compression. Developing EAC and PLEAC (audio), multi-channel low bit rate audio coding technology.
Image Compression. Developed Embedded Image Codec(EIC) and PTC (images).
Video Compression. Developed Embedded Video Codec (EVC).
Graphic Compression. Compression of Layered Depth Image, Concentric Mosaic, Lumigraph/Lightfield, Mesh.
Multiple Description Coding. Multiple Description Coding [Microsoft Internal Link] for graceful degradation of AV quality under packet loss.
Network Coding. Developed Network Coding [Microsoft Internal link] for efficient and robust broadcasting to subgroups in P2P and wireless environments.
Scalable Media Compression. Developed EAC and PLEAC (audio), Embedded Image Codec(EIC) and Embedded Video Codec (EVC).
Erasure Coding. For striping redundant information across computers, disks, communication paths, and packets.
Distributed Source Coding. For efficient distributed data compression of correlated media signals.
